Basic Photo I
Getting Started with Your DSLRs
Understanding the Workings of your Camera

This workshop is ideal for beginners who have just bought a Nikon DSLR camera or those looking to get started and knowing the operation of the camera. It will take one through the user’s manual, learning the basic digital camera terminology. Hands on instructions and practical sessions are critical at every step of this workshop.

Hobbyists, beginners wanting to learn and having a direction in their photography will find this 5 hours workshop most useful.

Basic Photo 2
Building your Picture Techniques

This workshop is ideal for beginners who has bought a Nikon DSLR camera and do have a basic working knowledge of the operation of the camera. It is ideal for those wanting to have a better feel and an in depth understanding of the creative modes available with the DSLR and looking to have a stronger approach to photography. It offers photographers an understanding of the importance of the balance of techniques and the art in taking pictures.

Hands on instructions and practical sessions are critical at every step of this workshop. Hobbyists, beginners wanting to be more creative and to discover their own approaches in their photography will find this 6 hours workshop most useful.

Pre-requisites: Basic introduction photography knowledge or those have completed Photo 1.

 

Basic Photo 3
Learning to See & Control your Pictures

Seeing, in the finest and broadest sense means using your senses, your intellect and your emotions. It means encountering your subject matter with your whole being. It means looking beyond the labels of things and discovering the world around you. If you find that, your images often lack the ‘wow’ factor, or as if you can see, ‘a good picture’ but you just cannot capture that moment or composition, as you want it? Now is the time to break through those barriers and free yourself to explore and capture what has previously felt out of reach.

This workshop is tailored for photographers wanting to break through those barriers, learning the approaches, and discovering how to utilize an open-minded, creative approach to photography that breaks stereotypical barriers and methodology. Fieldtrips, classroom critiques and reviews of works are included in this 6 hours workshop.

Pre-requisites: General basic working photography knowledge is required. For those who have completed Photo 1 and Photo 2.

 

Photo 4 (The Next Level)

This two day boot camp classroom and field trip sessions will review and critic your body of works and help you to find your grounds and strength in photography. Participants will be interviewed and required to submit images for review, prior to registration for this workshop, thus limiting the number of participants for this workshop.

Together with a team of facilitators, participants will get to discuss their work and deals in the an-in depth and critical manner to bring out the best of each participant. For participants who wish to prepare a portfolio or hold future exhibitions or plans to pursue a critical direction and purpose in photography will find this intensive workshop helpful.

Pre-requisites: Interested participants must have a good basic working knowledge of photography or completed Basic Photo 3. A minimum of 15 participants are required to commence this workshop.

 

A Basic Introduction to Speedlight

This workshop is tailored for beginners who have bought a Speedlight or those wanting to have an understanding and learning the operation of your Speedlight.It will also introduces you to the concept of flash photography and enhance your creativity, for indoor and outdoor shoots. This workshop caters especially for beginners who wants to work with the Speedlight in low light situation, will find it most useful to overcome disappointment with bad exposures.

Hobbyist, beginners wanting to have a direction in flash photography will find this 5 hour workshop most useful.

Pre-requisites: None

 

Facilitators

Among the facilitators of this workshop are Azrul Abdullah, a former photo journalist and currently owns and operate a commercial studio. Eiffel Chong, is currently a renowned contemporary photographer and also lectures on photography at private institutions. Nikt Wong is a renowned writer and travel photographer. And Alex Moh is a curator and fine art photographer and currently works at the Nikon Centre KL.
